Luke Beck

Doctoral student in curriculum studies

I am a doctoral student in the School of Education and Tertiary Access at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

My research explores how programmatic curriculum texts and institutional discursive practices shape teacher professional practice, with a particular focus on Japanese language education in Queensland secondary schools.

In my work I draw on systemic functional linguistics, critical discourse analysis, and institutional ethnography to investigate issues in educational policy and curriculum theory.

If you would like to discuss research or potential collaborations, do not hesitate to reach out. I can be contacted at lbeck@usc.edu.au .
